Side Tracked

Due to the up coming party this month I let myself get a bit side tracked this morning instead of using the coolness to work some more on the boat I used it to work some on the side of my house.

I am putting in a planter so that I can shade the south side of my house from the sun and make it easier to mow by evening up things.

I didnt have enough rock in my stash pile to complete it, so I will need to dump out my planters and grab the rock under them to finish. As I am no longer using them it will not be a big loss to me, but where to put the dirt?

About that Transom

When we started taking the transom off we knew that it had been stiffened or repaired because the extra layer was easily seen.

What was unknown was that the fiber glass placed over it did not adhere to the boat hull or the plywood.

The plywood was soaked thru and had started to rot in the lower corners.

Once we had that repair job removed we started to take out the next layer of the transom. The glass work was much better than the repair, but there was another amusing suprise under it. Some one had poured resin in with the wood. So much that there were parts that had not completely cured.

But by dinner time lots of applied force and team work we got the majority of the transom out.
